After much speculation, ITV confirmed on Friday that Celebrity Big Brother will be returning in the new year.
The news comes following the success of the civilian series, which has seen high ratings for ITV2 and online buzz. CBB will air on ITV1 and STV, which will be followed by Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live after each episode.
“Celebrity Big Brother will see a new cast of famous faces isolated from the outside world as they embark on the ultimate social experiment, taking up residence in the iconic Big Brother house,” ITV said in a statement.
“Leaving luxury behind, the celebrities will take part in weekly nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move. Who will win the hearts of the nation, go all the way to the finish line, and be crowned the winner?”
There is no confirmation yet whether AJ Odudu and Will Best will be presenting the Celebrity Big Brother reboot.
The Celebrity format last aired in 2018 on Channel 5, where former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas was crowned the winner in the final series on the broadcaster prior to its cancellation.
Big Brother UK 2023 concludes on November 17 with the live final on ITV1, and ITVX.
