Trump To Give Remarks Following Tuesday Arraignment

The former president is facing multiple charges of falsifying business records, including at least one felony offense.

Former President Donald Trump deliver remarks Tuesday night in Florida following his arraignment in New York after being indicted last week, his campaign announced Sunday.

Trump will hold the event at his Mar-a-Lago club after returning from New York, where is expected to turn himself in earlier in the day. He is expected to strike a tone of strength as he attempts to boost his 2024 presidential campaign amid his legal woes.

The former president is facing multiple charges of falsifying business records, including at least one felony offense. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and claims the move is a “witch hunt” aimed at damaging his campaign and legacy in politics.

The Trump campaign claims it has raised over $5 million and logged more than 16,000 volunteer signatures since the indictment was announced last Thursday. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said these were “key indicators that Americans from all backgrounds are sick and tired of the weaponization of the justice system against President Trump and his supporters.”

Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina made the Sunday show rounds, claiming he would go over the indictment but declined to say Trump would try to dismiss the charges.

“We’re way too early to start deciding what motions we’re going to file or not file, and we do need to see the indictment and get to work,” he told ABC’s “This Week.” “I mean, look, this is the beginning.”

Trump is expected to fly to New York on Monday and stay at Trump Tower in Manhattan overnight before he turns himself in on Tuesday morning, according to two people familiar with his plans. The former president will then be fingerprinted and have a mug shot taken.

“Obviously, this is different. This has never happened before. I have never had Secret Service involved in an arraignment before at 100 Centre Street,” Tacopina said on CNN Sunday.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and members of the New York Young Republican Club are planning a “peaceful protest” against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Tuesday.
