(Fwrd Axis) — Love Is Blind star Danielle Ruhl has reportedly filed for divorce from Nick Thompson, ending their year-long marriage after meeting on the dating reality show.
TMZ reported early Sunday Ruhl filed on Monday at Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois.
Danielle and Nick were just one of two couples to be married on the second season of Love Is Blind. The news comes just days after Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones confirmed they are divorcing with an announcement on their social media channels.
“What’s going on, family. After much thought, we’re saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing,” the statement began. “While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that’s okay. Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best.”

“We hope you all give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives,” the statement continued. “Thank you to our close friends and family for loving us both through our experience. To the Love Is Blind family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support. Each of you have brought overwhelming love and joy into our lives.”
Last month, Ruhl spoke to Us Weekly about possibly starting a family with Thompson and possibly exchanging vows.
“At either our two — or three-year — anniversary, we really wanna redo a reception to make sure all of our families can be there,” she said. “Like, I’ve always dreamt of my dream wedding and wedding planning and a bachelorette party. And so we’re redoing all of that. It’s just like when we have the time.”
Ruhl and Thompson were the first couples to get engaged on the show but viewers saw them go through their ups and downs. Most recently, talks about having children were on the table.
“However, we got married really quickly and so it’s not anywhere in the [cards for] next two years,” she said. “Maybe after that, but we really just wanna take the time to focus on one another.”
Love Is Blind returns to Netflix for Season 3 later this year.
