Donald Trump Doubles Down On ‘Access Hollywood’ Tape Comments In Deposition

Carroll alleges that Trump defamed her in his Truth Social post, where he called the allegations a Hoax and a lie”

Former President Donald Trump doubled down on the comments he made in the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape in a newly-released deposition he gave in the E. Jean Carroll defamation and battery case.

Evidence from the trial was released on Friday, including Trump’s October 2022 deposition, which was shown to the jury Friday. Both sides rested their case Friday following a week of testimony and the jury is expected to get the case as early as Tuesday.

Carroll alleges that Trump defamed her in his Truth Social post, where he called the allegations a Hoax and a lie” and said, “This woman is not my type!”

Trump has denied all allegations that he raped Carroll or defamed her.

The former President was shown a video of his now infamous “Access Hollywood” tape, where he told a story to then-host Billy Bush about grabbing and kissing women without consent.

“You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait,” Trump says on the tape. “And when you’re a star they let you do it … You can do anything.”

“Grab them by the p—-,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”

In his deposition, Trump doubled down on those comments.

“Well, historically, that’s true with stars,” Trump replied.

“It’s true with stars that they can grab women by the p—-?” Trump was asked.

“Well, if you look over the last million years, I guess that’s been largely true,” Trump said. “Not always, but largely true. Unfortunately, or fortunately.”

“And you consider yourself to be a star?” Trump was asked.

“I think you can say that, yeah,” he said.

The news comes amid other legal troubles for Trump, who is running for the White House for a third time. Recent polling found two-thirds of Republican primary voters say they still support Trump and dismiss concerns circling him, according to a new poll from NBC News.
